The Catalina Islands are located in front of the coast of North Guanacaste, near Flamingo, El Coco, Ocotal. The Catalinas are fun sites to explore during a half day tour. Our trip includes snacks, the equipments and two immersions in different sites around the islands ( Sites are chosen depending on various factors, including conditions, client interests and guide knowledge and suggestions ). The tour depart around 7 AM and returns around noon to 1 PM.
This dive tour is the most popular in the province of Guanacaste. The short boat ride ( around 30 minutes ( and the good conditions including visibility and underwater wildlife make it a fun place to explore. Ideal for beginners and intermediate divers. The Catalinas Islands are a group of volcanic islands located approximately 40 minutes from Playas del Coco, where marine life abounds thanks to its coral reef and rocky. These islands are known locally and internationally for the spectacular migrations of Golden Stripes and the constant presence of Móbulas, Oceanic Blanket, Whip Stripes and other marine animals like turtles, clown shrimp, whitetip sharks, moray eels. After leaving Playas del Coco at 07:30 am, we will visit the main dive points of the area: La Pared, La Viuda, Sombrero and Aquarium, conducted by our experienced Dive Master. Points to visit vary depending on wind and current conditions. After the first dive, you will enjoy a healthy snack of fresh fruits and non-alcoholic drinks. In the second dive visit another point inside the area to complete the underwater experience and return to Playas del Coco. Between the second and third immersion you will enjoy a cold beachfront lunch consisting of a fresh bread sandwich with roasted chicken, avocado, tomato and fresh cheese.
